Start-ups need a design partner who can define and execute
Headshot

Neil Mackintosh

Getting from 0-1 (or 1+) requires a product delivery mindset. I've worked with dozens of founders and their teams to:

—help realize a product vision, from the start of the journey through to a successful launch or exit

—reimagine an ailing product, from the overall brand identity to the interface and customer experience

—solve tactical design challenges that are causing issues for customers and stalling growth

—grow and galvanize teams across departmental silos to deliver the best results

What to expect

I show up on day one to deliver the following:

—a strong contribution to the strategic direction of the product

—an attention to detail that identifies opportunities that significantly improve the quality and consistency of the customer experience

—beautiful user interfaces that build trust and showcase the value of the business offering

—collaboration with leadership, product managers, engineers, marketers to define product vision, strategy and roadmaps

—prototyped ideas that communicate concepts and build excitement

—high-quality work shipped in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, resource-constrained environment

Leading design

I'm currently working in diverse markets (AI, ecommerce, fintech, energytech, ESG) in the US, UK, Europe, Africa, and the GCC, helping founders and growth teams deliver on critical product design objectives that drive revenue. As an overarching strategy I work to empower leaders to focus on what they are building not just how they are building it.

Historically I worked with influential start-ups (CNET, Quokka, Napster, SugarSync, Topcoder) and agencies (iXL, Framfab, Razorfish ) to create some of the industry’s earliest representations of fundamental product experiences, such as streaming platforms, social media engagement, and file synching/sharing.

I've led design for companies backed by top US venture firms (Accel, Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Harlem Capital) at every funding stage to multimillion dollar exits.
